Saturday 25th August 2012 Wollondilly Arts Group WORKSHOP in ACRYLIC by Steve Underwood

Conducted by well known local artist Steve Underwood a fulltime artist and a 

gifted teacher, teaching both beginners and advanced and works mainly in 

oils, but will do this workshop for us in acrylics. He paints in a real but 

impressionistic style and enjoys painting landscape and portraiture.

The set up of  a floral spray in a dark-box with a directional spot light from above, will give us a chance to paint or draw the subject with a DARK BACKGROUND. Julie will be painting the subject in Oils but any medium at all will highlight the subject with its high and low lights. Julie will set up at 12.00, so arrive any time from then and work at your own pace.Or you may choose to work on your own project as usual. Venue is the Scout Hall in Thirlmere, New Members Welcome. Sandy has set the theme for the May creative get together as Trains and Rail, to generate interest in producing work for our new outlet at the Thirlmere Trainworks Quintessentials. Working in your own mediums of choice, choose a subject that is RAIL-BASED: Trains, Stations, Local  views etc. For those interested in submitting their works for sale at the Thirlmere Rail Musuem,keep in mind they will need to be light weight for stick on hanging. Or work on your own project as usual. Works by WAG 6 - the opening of the Annual exhibition of works by the members of the Wollondilly Arts Group will on Saturday, 21st April, 2012 at 1pm at the Scout Hall, far end of Mason Street, Thirlmere 2572 NSW. 
Light refreshments will be provided. See the NEW Jungle Book mural by the members of the Wollondilly Arts Group.

Exhibition will be open Saturday 21st of April and Sunday 22nd April from 10am to 4pm

Paint a still life watercolour with easy to follow 

written steps using the Rod Webb method.

Tony Barnett - Watercolour or Acrylics Materials List

There is no need to purchase more expensive materials, use what you have already if it is appropriate

A4 size 300 gm stretched water colour paper

Masking Fluid with a old, worn out, fine, stiff brush to apply it

2H pencil or one of your choice

Eraser

Transfer paper to copy the outline drawing onto the watercolour paper

Water colour or Acrylic paints Ultramarine Blue, Light Red, Paynes grey, Burnt Umber, Raw sienna, Windsor Blue, Light Yellow, Sap Green, Alizarin Crimson, A Dark Blue and a Red watercolour pencil.

Blotting paper, paper towel or toilet paper for removing wet paint

Two wash pots

Suitable pallete and mixing tray. (Acrylic users consider a moist chamber and spray bottle)

A mop brush for washes, a medium brush and a detail brush suitable for water colour or Acrylic paints
